Blogging about Baking Day 2: Here Comes the Cookie Monster

A beautiful morning everyone! This is The Baking Lassie inviting all cookie monsters out there to try and enjoy the classic chocolate chip cookies. I made it a little bit healthier by adding oatmeal to it so goodbye guilty feeling and hello cookies. Let's start! The ingredients we need are:  1/3 cup melted butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 large egg 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/8 cup flour 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp cornstarch 1/4 tsp salt 1/3 cup chocolate chips 1/3 cup oatmeal We have to mix the wet ingredients first. In a bowl, mix together melted butter, brown sugar, large egg, and vanilla until everything is incorporated. Then set aside. Easy right? For the dry ingredients, we will be needing a sifter to avoid clumps of flour when we make the cookie dough. That would make a bitter taste in our cookies and we don't want that to happen. Hello everyone. This is The Baking Lassie and this is about why I started blogging about baking. First, I'll give you a little history about me. I am a nurse. Yes, I am happy and delighted to serve my fellow countrymen, but there is something missing in my life that leaves a blank space in my heart. I tried to look for it by doing crafts, singing, learning how to play the guitar, but none of those filled that blank space in my heart.  Then I remembered, I was craving for a bread locally called as pandesal. It is a soft, chewy and tasty bread that melts in your mouth especially when it is warm and freshly baked. And we can only buy it from a nearby bakery every morning. I thought to myself, what if I can make a pandesal from scratch? In that way, I would be able to eat it anytime I wanted to. I started watching videos on youtube on how to make pandesal. Blogging About Baking Day 1: Rollin’ like a Cinnamon

Let me start by saying a beautiful afternoon everyone. This is The Baking Lassie, giving you a glimpse of joy in baking. Please bear with me as I start my journey in baking the most delectable cakes and bread that will make you crave for that sweet delicious taste. For day 1, let's roll like a cinnamon, the cinnamon rolls.  For my brother’s birthday, I decided to make cinnamon rolls. You might ask, why make a bread rather than a cake for a birthday? Well, other than breaking the tradition, the cinnamon rolls best fit my brother for he is sweet in the simplest way. Now, let's start.
